And who told you he is an iGBO man? ....

I saw how you want to put a fight between South South and South East and withdraw yourself to enjoy their fight....

Typical of who you are what what you can offer...
The hatred and animosity on IGBOS didn't start today, it started from your grand fathers, so it is not because of any coastal road that you are vomiting this hatred without proper reasoning but it runs in your blood...

We are talking about spending a whooping sum of #11trillion for just one road construction....

And am now finding out that it is no longer a BOT job but to be self funded by Federal Government, the same Federal Govt crying there is no fund....

Who did we offend in Nigeria ?

Is either this road will be used against someone politically in the rear future and the person is felling he belongs to the inner circle or that the road will enrich some Politicians for now...

Nobody is saying the road should not be constructed , am of the opinion that something unique should be built, but the question is, is this the right time?

There are roads now that takes one from Calabar to Lagos... isn't it?

How has federal Govt maintained the roads

There was a thread where one monicker was showing pictures of coastal roads in US, South Africa, UK ,etc....

Did he check the interior city roads or the roads that one can take to reach the destination the coastal roads provided are

Let me leave you here, heal from your hatred first ..
sonature is indeed an Ibo man. Where is the lie?

You are an Igbo man. We all understand what is pushing you and your fellow Obidients. Anything against SS, you counter it. We will show you.

You want to advise the government on where to put money but ordinary 2.5M, you didn't know where to put it and had to open a thread.

You igbo Obidients should continue your reply will be personally delivered to Obi in 2027 elections.

Typically, I consider people who link people's views to their tribes as inferior humans that are not worthy of my reply. However, I am replying to this message for people who have working brains (not necessarily your type) to think about this.

First, we have a country of over 200 million people and we are considered the world's poorest people, despite the fact that there are countries whose populations are more than one billion human beings each. How did we get here? Simple: Apart from stealing limited resources, we don't know how to prioritise.

You see, for a country of over 200 million people, we distribute less than 4000 megawatts of power. Nearly entire Nigerian economy runs on generators, making Nigerians the world's highest importers of generators.

Every now and then, SMEs are closing shops because they cannot afford to run on generators. If Tinubu was actually as smart as people have made us believe that he is, he would have invested a significant fraction of the money alloted to that needless road to building power assets across the country. Invest in all three segments of power. Before the end of his first tenure, we will see the impact it will make on the Nigerian economy.

Also, inflation has reached its all time high for the first time in the history of this country. As a result, something as basic as food has become so exorbitant that many people cannot even boast of eating three-square meals. Yet, we have a government that goes about sharing food in palliatives with no long-term investment in agriculture.

A sane mind would expect Tinubu to declare a state of emergency on agriculture. Invite all the 36 governors and get them to liaise with the federal ministry of agriculture to turn hectares of free arable lands into farms, give inputs to farmers, and build agroallied plantations across the country to reverse that trend. He would rather waste trillions on a road that will serve as an alternative to an existing road.

I can go on and on and on. Honestly, it's terribly exhausting living in the midst of a people who cannot think outside the box and always limit their thought process to tribes. It is even worse being led by thoughtless people and having dregs of society defend them. That's why no race takes black people seriously! The black man is totally brainless and cannot think beyond his tribe and environment. Oh, God! I am tired of these humans!

PS: if you ever reply to this message, be sure that I won't respond.

Even before Peter Obi did, I criticised the project when it was awarded because I thought that the trillions of naira it should engulf should go into more important industries, chiefly agriculture and power.

But then, I have come to understand that this country doesn't understand what is called a priority and that has made it a big mess!
They understand priority projects very well. But what is happening is that many of these projects are self-center, people site project based on what they will gain, to contractor deal, everything deal

Gilbert Chagoury and Tinubu are friends. Why would the FG headed by Tinubu award a 700 km road, bridges and rail to a single company?
Shorter roads are award about 4 to 5 contractors, why is this one special

There are more questions that Tinubu will answer on the ChagouryGate

Point of correction!
Tinubu and Chagoury are not just friends but business associates. This is the same Chagoury of C&C used by Abacha to steal Nigeria dry.

Rufai claims there were 57 active businesses that were impacted. Since he is now the mouthpiece of those businesses, can he list them?

As far as September 2023, talks began with HiTech on the project, where was Rufai Oseni? Why didn't he raise the alarm then, WHY NOW?

While raising the question about Landmark properties and alignment, Rufai Oseni refused to admit whether Landmark violated the right of way. He also did not state whether Landmark illegally utilized the asset in question. He also did not address the fact that only a marginal portion of Landmark was affected.

When the initial propaganda failed, they shifted to EIA and EISA. The Ministry of Environment already said they issued a waiver. But Rufai Oseni, who requested access to the audited books of someone's private enterprise, is not satisfied.

He also claims the owner of HiTech is Tinubu's personal friend. Does he want us to discuss his boss' personal friends and associates? Did they not give media protection to Emefiele, Okowa, PDP and Atiku? If they didn't, why were they hell bent on humiliating Tinubu with their boss even writing to accuse Tinubu of Noriega moment. If there was no personal or business interest for them, why did they take it so personal?

Then they accused the minister of staying in Eko Hotel and Suites; what has that got to do with anything?

On the surface, Rufai Oseni and Arise News have serious questions; but the questions are not balanced, because they have not asked Landmark questions. They have clearly taken a side and they are fighting for either personal or business interests. Yesterday, it became clear when they interviewed a former Commissioner of Police. The conversation was accusatory and not intermediatory. Answers provided by the government are never acceptable to them, but they believe everything the Landmark CEO says.

Rufai Oseni, you claim to fact check everything. Please fact-check whether Landmark rightfully owned that land and whether he was cleared to build there.

One more point to make: you claim there was no stakeholder engagement before demolition. David Umahi sat down in your studio to say that he met with the CEO of Landmark and that they adjusted their plans to spare his properties. You also asked why properties not previously marked for demolition and outside the right
of way were demolished. As a journalist, you ought to be aware that notices of demolition were sent to all affected parties and they complied.

How come only Landmark is complaining?

What is Arise News/Rufai Oseni's personal/business interest here?

PS: When a former editor and a firmer executive director of PUNCH newspapers had a fight over one of them allegedly collecting millions of naira from corrupt politicians and businessmen to give them positive press coverage and kill negative stories, both of them were forced out of the media house. It became clear that some journalists used the media to promote personal and business interests. So if you see any media house seemingly pursuing or protecting someone's business interest, even at the expense of the public good, money is involved.

How come Channels TV, NTA, TVC or AIT are not fighting or protecting any interests? Why certain journalists from certain media houses?

Rufai Oseni asked to see the acvohnt statements of someone's private business. Can Rufai Oseni publish his own accpunt statements so we are convinced he did not receive a PR contract to use his platform to demarket the coastal road project

Anytime you hear Rufai Oseni (LP) and his PDP brother/ senior colleague Reuben Abati hammering on a particular issue just press another station.

Anything that would make Nigeria collapse and go in flames is what excite them.

Look at all the questions he listed. He's questioning govt, telling Tinubu how to run govt. Is Tinubu his father's mate? Omo ale jati jati. He talks to guests anyhow and obidients would be hailing him.

Imagine during the Presidential Tribunal Rufai turned All Eyes on Judiciary to a song in the studio.

Is that part of the ethical behavior of a journalist?

These are serious questions. Umahi may end up in a serious mess after the tenure of Tinubu.

These are no questions at all, rufai is doing what he was paid for as his kind of journalist. Can you see that Landmark can not go to court for junction to stop the demolition? Why, because he will explain tire, nothing is permanent, when you are building you shld know the Law, like people building now under the high tension, when Thier time comes the y will go and tell rufai to help them shout abi? Loosing properties or businesses for Legal actions is never a big deal. Did rufai know that people loose jobs when banks merged? Or when a contract on projects were terminated? So what is landmark. Come to seme badagry axis we all aware that we should not fix and substantial structures 15M minimum to the sea. Na only him do business along the corridor or he never paid complete the borrowed money? That was how past governments refused to take on any bigger projects but they pocket the money via SPVs.

You have just one phone whose screen is faulty which you are managing. You then say enough is enough. You need a new phone. You go to Alibaba site to order a phone to be delivered to you next year. While you live with the faulty phone for 1 more year. Is this a sensible decision?

If it's sensible to you, then you should be fine with what's going on. If it's not sensible to you, that's how other Nigerians feel with respect to this project.

Everybody likes a costal road. We see it in movies and we love it. But is it a sensible decision to build one when you can't even travel from one state to another due to bad roads? It doesn't make any atom of sense.
A road that will be completed in 5 years time knowing that 5 years is like 15 years in Nigeria.

Exactly. When you see people downplaying all the potential benefits of this project, I know no explanation will make sense to them. Seriously, we have been stuck with governments that only believes in paying salaries and repairing infrastructures built many years ago when the Nigeria population and infrastructure need is not what it is today. They have no vision and no master plan.

Now we have a government that for the first time is embarking on a new and major infrastructure project in the south that will greatly impact many states along that corridor and we are busy attacking it and claiming it is not needed at this time. Do they think there will ever be a good time to pursue mega projects like this?

God bless you o my brother. It’s not needed now is what we keep hearing. United States and other advance countries plan ahead. They don’t wait on the present infrastructure. Example;
1. The United States has a crude reserve, fuel reserve and other resources stored for emergencies. Nigeria is still waiting on daily crude production to know how many crude was pumped. So if we want to build reservoirs, one loser will now tell us, it’s not what we need now. 2. What they don’t know is that, building a crude reservoir is a major way of curbing crude theft in the Niger delta.
Nigeria needs more new infrastructures that will serve the kind of population growth we are experiencing today.

I remembered when dangote was still building his refinery, and when some 330kva transformers came into the country. It was on the road that they had to move those equipment. The distance and stress they faced due to pedestrian bridges and flyovers were frustrating. But this road is a shorter and more easier route for jobs like that.

Rufai Oseni asked to see the acvohnt statements of someone's private business. Can Rufai Oseni publish his own accpunt statements so we are convinced he did not receive a PR contract to use his platform to demarket the coastal road project
your defence here is out of point. Theres no relationship btw what you discussed here and the 8 points raised by rufai. And pls this is an open system... dont politicalised or tribalised your point. Nah we nigerians go gain or loss weather good or bad from the govt. Except you dey follow chop from the govt money. I come in peace.

Vital questions.

But as usual, they will attack him and pour venom on him for daring to ask these vital questions.

Atiku rightly described the project as a highway of fraud.

Is he asking about the legality of those business operating there?

You said Atiku described the project as fraud but the 6 governors of SS states commended the idea of the projects including the ones in the opposition parties. Sebi Atiku is living Dubai, driving on similar roads. Na for Nigeria we no deserve that kind of RT oad na.

Just like I said .... inability to think is your problem!!!

Answer the questions he put forward thats if u have any brains to think.

Perhaps it would be best if you answer the following question - How have they been doing it, that we can't replicate the same in Nigeria?

One of the presenters of the Morning Show on Arise News, Mr Rufai Oseni, took to his twitter handle to continue to question the Lagos-Calabar coastal road project.

Source: Oseni Rufai

Im not into partisan politics neither am i based in Nigeria so im not in support of any one, however this is just my own personal opinon of answers.

1. The Road project is expected to take 5 years to complete: would it not be more economically viable to commence the roadworks in the least commercially active areas along the Road as against the current intention of immediately decimating an Ecosystem that supports over 80 businesses and consequently the livelihoods of thousands of Nigerians?

Answer:This question is very vague without having the design masterplan of the road, what are the parameters used in measuring the commercial activities of areas in the design, this road is passing through nine states so im sure there would be equally or more active commercial areas,we cant go by his word of mouth,we need facts besides what does it matter wherever the road starts from, what we need is the quality and what matters most to me personally is the eventual completion.

2. Were all businesses, communities, and stakeholders whose businesses and property are currently under imminent threat of destruction properly notified or consulted on the adverse effects of the Road so that a win-win solution could be achieved?

Answer:From my little understanding of the news i have heard so far from stakeholders whose businesses were affected, there were duly notified, however he needs to first explain to us the adverse effects of the road so we can have an idea what he means, this is another vague question in my opinion.

3. In view of the fact that one of the main objectives of the Road project is to grow tourism and its attendant socio-economic benefits, why is such a commendable undertaking starting by demolishing the already existing homegrown tourism businesses that are already contributing greatly to the beachfront tourism landscape and overall economy in terms of tax revenue, job creation, SME development, etc?

Answer:This question itself is rigged with irregularities because the said beach front belongs to the federal government under therefore the FG dont anyone any explanations as to whatever they deem fit to do with their land, whatever tourism businesses there are illegal,if i were the one in charge, they would be the ones paying fines to the federal government now and they are in no position to ask question, they are illegal.

This question is akin to someone using the front your your gate for a street circus, now you want to drive out your car to go for your own business, the clown now says you need to wait till he is done with his circus because it has tourism potentials for your driveway....

4. The entire Road measures 700km: is it not possible to reroute less than a 1.5km stretch of it back to its original course on the unoccupied Water Corporation Road median in order to avoid the destruction of local businesses and livelihoods located along the current intended right of way?

Answer:This questions would be best answered by the eingineers involved in the design of the project.

5. Was due process followed in awarding the contract to Hitech Construction Company Limited?

Answer:Im in no position to answer this question because im not a stakeholder fortunately for him he is a journalist we should be the one asking him this questions and he giving us the reply with verifiable fasts

6. Why was the Julius Berger contract cancelled? Who cancelled it and when was this done?

Answer:Im in no position to answer this question because im not a stakeholder fortunately for him he is a journalist we should be the one asking him this questions and he giving us the reply with verifiable fasts

7. How many contractors have been appointed with respect to this Project?

Answer:Im in no position to answer this question because im not a stakeholder fortunately for him he is a journalist we should be the one asking him this questions and he giving us the reply with verifiable fasts

8. The Road was originally meant to be developed on a Build, Operate and Transfer (“BOT”) basis: why has government reversing course and now self-funding it?

Answer:Oga your question done dey too much o,you be journalist go and investigate, common this is your job,if its too much of a hassle for you resign and let competent hands continue, this is not how ICIJ Pandora papers made a name for themselves, they didnt ask the public questions, they came out with verifiable facts, you too go and do it,they dont have too heads.

7. How many contractors have been appointed with respect to this Project?

Answer:Invoke the FOI act and get all this information, you are a journalist, how hard is this for you to do.

8. The Road was originally meant to be developed on a Build, Operate and Transfer (“BOT”) basis: why has government reversing course and now self-funding it?

Answer:Personally i dont have a problem with whatever course they choose to fund it as long as its in the best interest of Nigeria however this is just my personal opinion,,is this reversing course affecting your salary?besides the question is vague, is the previous developed BOT basis better than the new course, give us your reasons with facts why the new course is a bad deal.

Governors commending the project doesn't take away the fact that the project is a highway of fraud
