I have watched his videos, he has said it countless times. If you have watched his videos you wouldn’t be saying that except you just want to cause problems. He said it when responding to Atiku, he said it when responding to Pandora.

The entire project is to cost about $15b, govt is only paying $1b. That is why it did. Or go through the normal bid process.

So Hitech has 14 billion dollars to invest in a road project. Yet did not complete the lekki road project

Do you in your mind think theyvwill do the 700km to Calabar?? Govt. is funding the mist lucrative part that will be tolled.

casualobserver:

The main thing many people who claim to be knowledgeable (Obi and Rufai) seem to miss is that the project is not being wholly financed by the govt. Government is only paying about 10%. Umahi has said this many times but they never seem to hear or want to hear.

Government is paying for the 1st 34 Km out of 700km.

With the present state of the country, a coastal highway shouldn't be on the scale of preference of the federal government, if only insecurity and lack of electricity can be fought to stand still. There is hope.

Rufai claims there were 57 active businesses that were impacted. Since he is now the mouthpiece of those businesses, can he list them?

As far as September 2023, talks began with HiTech on the project, where was Rufai Oseni? Why didn't he raise the alarm then, WHY NOW?

While raising the question about Landmark properties and alignment, Rufai Oseni refused to admit whether Landmark violated the right of way. He also did not state whether Landmark illegally utilized the asset in question. He also did not address the fact that only a marginal portion of Landmark was affected.

When the initial propaganda failed, they shifted to EIA and EISA. The Ministry of Environment already said they issued a waiver. But Rufai Oseni, who requested access to the audited books of someone's private enterprise, is not satisfied.

He also claims the owner of HiTech is Tinubu's personal friend. Does he want us to discuss his boss' personal friends and associates? Did they not give media protection to Emefiele, Okowa, PDP and Atiku? If they didn't, why were they hell bent on humiliating Tinubu with their boss even writing to accuse Tinubu of Noriega moment. If there was no personal or business interest for them, why did they take it so personal?

Then they accused the minister of staying in Eko Hotel and Suites; what has that got to do with anything?

On the surface, Rufai Oseni and Arise News have serious questions; but the questions are not balanced, because they have not asked Landmark questions. They have clearly taken a side and they are fighting for either personal or business interests. Yesterday, it became clear when they interviewed a former Commissioner of Police. The conversation was accusatory and not intermediatory. Answers provided by the government are never acceptable to them, but they believe everything the Landmark CEO says.

Rufai Oseni, you claim to fact check everything. Please fact-check whether Landmark rightfully owned that land and whether he was cleared to build there.

One more point to make: you claim there was no stakeholder engagement before demolition. David Umahi sat down in your studio to say that he met with the CEO of Landmark and that they adjusted their plans to spare his properties. You also asked why properties not previously marked for demolition and outside the right
of way were demolished. As a journalist, you ought to be aware that notices of demolition were sent to all affected parties and they complied.

How come only Landmark is complaining?

What is Arise News/Rufai Oseni's personal/business interest here?

PS: When a former editor and a firmer executive director of PUNCH newspapers had a fight over one of them allegedly collecting millions of naira from corrupt politicians and businessmen to give them positive press coverage and kill negative stories, both of them were forced out of the media house. It became clear that some journalists used the media to promote personal and business interests. So if you see any media house seemingly pursuing or protecting someone's business interest, even at the expense of the public good, money is involved.

How come Channels TV, NTA, TVC or AIT are not fighting or protecting any interests? Why certain journalists from certain media houses?

Rufai Oseni asked to see the acvohnt statements of someone's private business. Can Rufai Oseni publish his own accpunt statements so we are convinced he did not receive a PR contract to use his platform to demarket the coastal road project
See the incoherent crap you wrote , made zilch sense nor answered any of the above questions

People fail to see the real hand writing on the wall.
This is Tinubu plan to enrich and beautify Lagos with federal funds and then when he is out the project would had been 90% around the west and it shall be called coastal road and all tourism can take place in the western region.

The below part of your post got me thinking. My suggestion is that if you are writing for a wider audience please avoid this pit falls. It makes you look more like an emotional blackmailer. For the fact that he didn't ask before did not mean that he can't ask now. I. Would rather remove this part and focus on addressing the issues he raise head-on.

Because Landmark does not complain does not mean that the deal was good or bad for the general public.

You also asked if he wanted you guys to talk about the shady deals of his boss. I am sorry that also is immaterial to the issue. That you chose not to expose the dirty deals of his boss does not mean he should not expose that of others unless you reached an agreement with him on that in which case I could understand that you are questioning his integrity as a person otherwise this your point does not make sense.

I think part of the reason or the reasons they will give is because of the protests and destruction of the toll booths.

I am not holding brief for hi tech or Tinubu. I am just stating the facts as the are today. The road is not being built by the govt. …that is a major flaw in the arguments by the likes of Obi and Arise tv crew. If the project fails like it did with lekki then people can have a point but let us make the right (and factual) points when we argue.

The loser of the election is not a futuristic politician. He never plans for the future. Because if he did anambra will be better industrialized, rather he claimed to save money for the states when he can actually invest in infrastructure and business he use to say up and down. Singapore 🇸🇬, Malaysia 🇲🇾 and Ukraine 🇺🇦 statistics is what he keeps telling people, but when he was there he couldn’t invest and attract such ideas to his states.
That coastal road is a great blessing to Nigerian southern states. Watch how investment will spread around that corridor easily, because distances to cover will reduce drastically. Companies that hardly leaves Lagos will easily start spreading along that terrain. We need to build futuristic infrastructure and not stuck to repairing roads of 1970’s.

Obi and his Arise news agents are failures and don’t have good plans for this country.

Exactly. When you see people downplaying all the potential benefits of this project, I know no explanation will make sense to them. Seriously, we have been stuck with governments that only believes in paying salaries and repairing infrastructures built many years ago when the Nigeria population and infrastructure need is not what it is today. They have no vision and no master plan.

Now we have a government that for the first time is embarking on a new and major infrastructure project in the south that will greatly impact many states along that corridor and we are busy attacking it and claiming it is not needed at this time. Do they think there will ever be a good time to pursue mega projects like this?

Do you think Peter Obi will destroy an already flourishing tourism business to award a white elephant project that is presumed for tourism to the most corrupt entity in the person of the the Chagoury brother let alone present a cheque of 15trilliob Naira to the Nigerian people for the project. You see, dodging the real issue here which is for Tinubu and Chagoury to recoup their own share of the Nigerian common wealth which part of it was spent during the election won't make us stop throwing the hard truth on una faces till they are sacked from this country never to step in it again which is bound to happen.

Stop over hyping a serial party defector and a man who performed woefully in Anambra State for 8years.
Your Pandora fraudster siphoned Anambra State funds and stashed the funds in a foreign account, invested Anambra money in personal business and his children account and he was ferrying #250million raw cash monthly to his hideout. #250m was a lot then, considering the allocation of Anambra State then.
Obingo is a fraudster and failure in all ramifications.
This is what obingo said about buildings he demolished during his tenure, he stated clearly he would not pay compensation.

Same way you couldn't replicate Ajaokuta white elephant and Kano Maradi rail. That's like a man living and selling onions in Mushin asking " all those in fine houses in Lekki, why can't we build same in Mushin"

Because you look out for fancy at the expense of common sense and ability to fund it. A country without power supply wants to compete with Europe

My own concern is, why Hitech?
What has this company accomplished to secure such a massive project?
Lagos - Ibadan Road, 127.6km, was given to two major contractors (Berger and RCC), while a 700km coastal road with a rail line, a first of its kind project, was awarded to a relatively unknown company.
Naija na wao!

Fuethermore, If Nigeria has the resources, why not prioritize fixing our failed roads like Shagamu - Benin, Benin to Warri, Benin - Auchi - Okene - Abuja, Jos - Forest - Keffi/Akwanga, Markudi - Vandekya - Ogoja - Calabar, etc., instead of investing in infrastructure projects that might never materialize? Just like the Ojaokuta steel plant, Aladja Steel plant, and our struggling refineries, it raises questions about how this government's allocate our scarce resources.

My 2cent.

This coastal road is a tourism disaster. Destroying years of beach front tourism to build a coastal road is insanity especially when that road was initially sited to avoid this disaster but for some selfish, retarded and dark reasons was relocated to the water front to destroy thousands of businesses.

Why was that road shifted from its initial site on the original plan? what is the explanation for this?
