If i arrest someone who stole my money, can the police release him without hearing from me, whether or not he's capable of giving me back my money?

What course of action can I take if he's released behind my back?

If he is not charged to court after 24hrs in custody... Yes! They can if you do not stay in touch

I don't want to charge him to court. I expect the IPO to at least reach out to me before he's freed.

Be specific, did he steal the money or you're trying to recover a debt? These are two different cases.
2. If you're interested in recovering your money from him, without the Courts, the Police will have to thread with caution. But the best ior him to be charged to court.

He stole my money. I transferred 100k to a friend and i asked him to bring the cash for me. He ran away with the money and came back one week later after absconding.

He's someone i have known over the years. I had to arrest him. I can let it go.

I expect the police to let me know if anyone comes forward to bail him.
