I was just relaxing with a cup of coffee when this thought crossed my mind, prompting me to seek the opinions of our honorable ladies on this forum.

You see, I've worked with various companies and experienced both male and female bosses. Unfortunately, my encounters with female bosses have often been unpleasant. One particular manager stands out like a sore thumb in my memory. She would come to work in a foul mood, ready to transfer her aggression to the first staff member who greeted her with, "Good morning, madam."

It turned out she was having marital problems due to infertility, and we had to bear the brunt of her frustration at work. Unfortunately, I became her favorite staff member and assistant manager. After work, she would stay back to play games on her work laptop and wouldn't allow me to leave, forcing me to stay until 9 PM every single day.

I remember clearly when I informed her that I got a new job and was leaving. She became so angry that she excluded me from departmental meetings. That was just one experience; I went on to have countless unpleasant encounters with female bosses at work. Now, I prefer to work with male bosses. This isn't to say I discriminate against women in the workplace; it's just my experience.

Surprisingly, I found that most of my female colleagues also do not like working under a female boss. Nine out of ten ladies I interviewed would prefer a male boss. Despite the belief that men can be difficult, I can bet that most NL females, when given the option, would readily choose a male over a female boss. Why is that so? In one instance, I was told that female bosses are always harder on their own gender. Is this true?

Can you share your experience working with a female boss? How has that worked for you? Also, to the ladies of NL, is it true that you prefer not to work under each other?

I have worked with female and male bosses and I have never had a problem with any female boss. I can`t say that a male or female boss is better. It all runs down to personality and leadership skills.

That being said, I believe that you describe female bosses as agressive whereas you would describe the same behavior in men as assertive. In other words, you might be the problem. It`s your unconscious bias.

Not aggressive per se, but female bosses often bring a lot of carry-over emotions from their personal lives into the workplace. I may be slightly biased based on my experiences, but most of my female colleagues also preferred working with male bosses.I work well with female colleagues, but not as well when they are my boss

It boils down to the individual I think, and not the gender of the person. Yeye bosses exist in both genders, and great ones as well.

You are totally right. The one's i have had so far, the men tends to be relaxed while the madam's are more bossy like they are constantly trying to prove something.

Though I've worked with both and I haven't had any issues with either, but I'd choose male bosses anytime any day! undecided...

Females are naturally entitled and emotional and fact is that, it's hard for them to keep that part of them away from business undecided...

And regardless of how hard they try, it almost always shows up and blimey when I say that im not ready to deal with any emotional buhaha undecided...

So male bosses all the way undecided...
