Lol, I'm still surprised how Nigerians are so gullible and dense. I've know more about Tinubu in 2014. That was when I realised that this man is nothing but a high-grade gbajue

Subsidy is still being paid, why gaslight yourself?

Naira is not being defended so stop this self deceit!

Previous minimum wage expired April and we're in May!!!

Master strategist with no strategy.

Be like say Tinubu wants to be removed before 2027

The government never claimed the wage adjustment is their minimum wage so how does that relate to minimum wage?

Minimum wage will still take effect just that truly the government have dragged feet too much. They should have implemented it by now instead of wasting time this much.

Also, this Naira floating and subsidy removal is taking a huge toll on Nigerians but I kinda like that it was done. For the past decades, economics have been blabbering and abusing all government that “float the naira” , remove fuel subsidy and automatically Nigeria become America.

Now that we have done it, people have seen that Nigerians are not well enough to carry the burden themselves. FG must understand that if within the first 2 years, things don’t calm down to a bearable level, people might not be able to continue to give them the benefit of the doubt.

This cash and carry journalist again. When he was giving all manner of excuses for Tinubu’s certificate forgery, he did not know that the demented clown had nothing to offer. Has he now realised what we have been saying all along?

Please each state should conclude on what they can pay and let's get this thing started already

The big question is if Nigerians have suffered enough to actually do something about their suffering - when the time comes.

My mechanic is from a neigbouring Francophone country - one of those countries Nigerians routinely deride as "small". His damning verdict on Nigerians?

"Suffer don custom una" undecided

The next elections (for those of us still alive then) will demonstrate if Nigerians finally understand that elections do have consequences.

It is strange to non-Nigerians when they constantly hear our deafening complaints about the APC...and yet we do not comprehensively reject that party at the polls. After the 8 years lost to locusts and quelea birds under the Buhari administration - a total and overwhelming rejection of the APC at the 2023 polls should have been a foregone conclusion. But what did Nigerians do? They closed their eyes and refused to take their destiny in their own hands. We can all see the results.

Our institutions are very, very weak. Nigerians must make the resuscitation of these institutions a matter of life and death or we are going nowhere. Since it is clear that this isn't a priority for the BAT administration (just like it wasn't for his predecessor) Nigerians need to start looking elsewhere.

Life's journey is nothing but a series of lessons learned. If Nigerians still have not learned anything after the immense suffering they have gone through (and are still going through) then we deserve to suffer even more.

My thinking is that Tinubu is expecting normalcy to return to the economy with the local production of petroleum products very soon.

If he increases minimum wage drastically now, will he reduce it then What happens to the excess cash in people's hands

Also. we cannot go into another election like this. Tinubu will definitely takes 'measures' to bring down prices of everything across board. Even Buhari did the same before 2019 elections.
Re: Minimum Wage, Maximum Deceit And Moral Cowardice- Kperoogi by yakson84(m): 8:39pm On May 04
Itseems this Tinubu doesnt have solution to the problems confroting us. He is only learning on the job and only do try by error. All Tinubu want is to be president. That is why it is idea to vote any desperate politician. Buhari was desperate to be president and became confused when he mounted the seat of power.same is happening now. God never guides one who is desperate only satan is his guardian. Beware of any desperate politician seeking 4 power.

The originative signal of the intensity of the hardheartedness of this government came from the precipitate, ill-conceived, thoroughly unjustified announcement of the removal of petrol subsidies on President Tinubu’s inaugural day.
He followed this up with the disastrous “floating” of the naira, which wiped out trillions from the economy, hemorrhaged existing foreign investments, and made nonsense of the pittance workers collected as salaries

The two policies were like implemented by a leader of the pygmies and the hottentots. Unimaginable that a lettered man would assume office as president of Nigeria, and on the first day in office, took these far reaching economic policies without advisers and ministers in place.

To think that BAT approved N500m for a 37 member committee to sit on wage/salary review...undecided

Some of us shouted ourselves hoarse about BAT prior to the elections, but Nigerians chose not to listen.

A man simply cannot give what he doesn't have. It is a law. Take it or leave it.

One part of me was hoping fervently that BAT would prove some of us wrong and rise above his personal limitations to set a new standard for how things are done. But like I said earlier - a man cannot give what he doesn't have.

There's no difference between the BAT administration and those that came before it. In some respects it is far, far worse.

Last year, a lot of clear headed, careful, rational thought was needed in taking those crucial first policy steps required to repair Nigeria's broken oil economy. But the thought leadership simply wasn't there: one year on and the choices made (as well as their sequencing) seems incredibly cavalier.

After the damage had been done, it would have been slightly better (not a whole lot better...but just slightly better) if BAT chose to lead by example in managing the fallout of his policy choices. But the man cannot give it...because he doesn't have it. So while Nigerians are screaming hard, having the life wrung out of them with chronic inflation and a hobbled currency, the BAT administration is living crazy large with multi-billion Naira budgets for presidential yachts, N500m wage committee scandals, Betta Edu/Tunji Ojo contract scandals, etc. undecided

Nigerians are going to learn a very expensive lesson - and class is just starting.

I don't know why Farooq isn't tired of nigeria.

Politicians have just some form of fault, but the followers are the most stupid

Most yoruba people don't really see anything evil in tinubu "awalokan"

All what you hear from dem is "e je ka ma gbadura"

As they are going to ori oke to buy water and oil, they are also going to alfa and babalawo to buy soap and charms

nigeria is irredeemable
