Since its widespread use after 2010, the term "accelerationism" has also been divided into two camps: left-wing and right-wing. The right-wing accelerationism is represented by Nick Land, whose ideas inspired the neoconservative movement in the United States: a movement that embraces modern technology but believes that the leadership of technology and society should be held by authoritarian, centralized institutions and a small number of technical people.
