erico2k2: I am seeing about 300 bags o. My latest dey ring bell for my head... 300 bags of cement 60 tons of stone dust (no sand), 30 tons of 3/4 granite, 30 tons of 3/4 down granite. Plenty iron in tons like you. I dreamt of those materials for many days after they finished... nah to dey drink gari with kuli-kuli for many months o. I was happy that some items remain for upper level block/lintel work. @Aventures is great, my kobo no miss, and he saved me some money too. Hajji M. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

erico2k2: Great job, coming out well as the seam time. I think the following should be check thoroughly before casting. 1. Cantilever slab should have it's main reinforcement on top with bar projected into adjacent slab at least 1.5 it's length. 2. Beam should have maximum space of ring /stirrup not more than 300mm. 3. Continuouse support of slab should have top reinforcement, with nominal reinforcement on the bottom of top. 4. All reinforcement should be provided with adequate cover. 5. The bottom bar should be separated from the top bar. Great Jones once again 4 Likes |

erico2k2: My Gari and kuli-kuli seller imports direct from Nigeria... my kids/grand calls it African cereals. I bought the rods in December 2015 when the price first start going up in January 2016... now the price is ridiculous. Aventures warn me that time to buy the rods in December 2015 because he knows the prices will go up in January 2016, never doubted him and went for the purchase... the decking work started in December 2015 and decked in January 2016. The man was my life-saver. Cement was N1,450 a bag (300 bags) Granite was 135k per ton (2 tons) Stone dust was 90k per ton (2 tons) 16mm rod was 95k per ton (2 tons) 12mm rod was 120k per ton (3 tons) 10mm rod was 95k (1 ton) Compared that to the prices now... it's a killer. We overbought intentionally because of the surging prices so we used all the leftovers on the upper block works, columns, and lintels... just few more iron rods were purchased.. the granite left over was enough. You need a Builder that has vision...not those robbers and rogues who want to milk you dry. Thank God for @Aventures o. Hajji M. |

erico2k2: This is what I meant.... there is gonna be plenty waka-waka on top of those stairs with heavy load... I have always seen this done for that purpose. So, think about it o. Easy access for the workers to the decking platform too. Hajji M. 1 Like

Nice work bro, just be around to make sure the concrete is well turned, even with machine mix, make sure they pack it as soon at its turned, the longer concrete stays without being cast, it loses some of its bonding power. Keep it up till you will call us to come chop rice on house opening day Happy new year. 1 Like |

By now I am sure mission has been accomplished. Glory to the Almighty. Dont forget to wet the slab with water in the early morning before sun comes out and in the evening when sun goes down. They recommended 3-4 days of wetting but I did it for one week abd shower rain also helped me along the way. One of the dangerous snd expensive stage is gone. Glory. Hajji M. 1 Like |
