The Anambra state “CITY CAB” scheme is a pro-people transportation programme of the Anambra State government, under the leadership of Chief Willie Obiano, with a private-public partnership framework involving Aquila Leasing Limited (the Official fleet managers for the scheme).
The Anambra “CITY CAB” Scheme is part of the strategic initiative of the Anambra State Government to transform Anambra into a world class model state with an environmentally friendly transportation system, aimed at empowering the youths of the state by offering them an opportunity to own a brand new cab via hire-purchase.
Approved Car for the Scheme
The preferred brand for the Anambra State “CITY CAB” scheme is the all-new 2014 Nissan Almera which has the following features:
• Four passenger capacity
• Factory fitted air-conditioner
• Manual gear system
• A three and half comprehensive insurance policy
• Hi-tech tracking system
Prospective participants must certify the following conditions to participate in the scheme:
1. A completed application form
2. Two recent passport photographs of the beneficiary
3. A valid driver’s license of the beneficiary
4. A valid identification card of the beneficiary
5. Residential utility bill
6. Reference letter from community head/association/union
7. Receipt of down payment of N165,000 (one hundred and sixty five thousand naira)
8. Two guarantors of grade level 13 and above
9. A completed guarantors form
10. A copy of guarantors ID card
11. Two passport photographs of each of the guarantors
Repayment:
All beneficiary are required to pay N165, 000 initial deposit and the subsequent payments of N23,000/week should be made for a period of 42 calendar months (ie 3 1/2 years).
