It’s a scam but unfortunately , there’s nothing you can do about it .

i could make an arrest let the police and the courts decide

But its affecting my ability to sell the car off as a first body tokunbo. The buyers are refusing to play ball after inspection.

Technically a car can be first body even if it's been sprayed. If there's been no body work done and fillers added asides probably a changed bumper, it's pretty much "first body". I guess the issue is sometimes our paint jobs in Nigeria are of poor quality.

Sorry, can you please provide more information, like what's the make and model of the said car, are you selling immediately after you bought it, how much did you buy and how much do you want to sell now, was it naija used you bought it ot foreign used resprayed. There's always solution

from my observation the first color of the car is white.cos the present color is gradually peeling off and beneath is white color.

Oh, I get it now. It's a bad paint job. Unfortunately, a good portion of our Nigerian paint jobs aren't quality and people sometimes emphasize first body to mean the original paint coat as it's more durable. I remember a mechanic telling me to let him know when I'm ready to repaint my car and I told him I'd rather use it the way it is because I don't trust our paint jobs.

So, you bought a used car, after using for a while you're looking for how to return it to seller and get a refund

The dealer can say whatever he likes, you did inspect the before buying, right? You didn't sit at home and paid fully and got the vehicle sent over like a brand new packaged iphone

Worldwide, used cars are sold "AS IS" and that means you inherit the vehicle alongside all its liabilities. Next time if you don't know how to ascertain a painted vehicle, go along with an expert. Once you buy a used car, the property becomes yours

There's no warranty services on used cars anywhere in the world

Do you have any hard proof of the dealer telling you the car has never been resprayed?... If you don't, don't bother reading further.. Just go sleep and allow the innocent car dealer to drink water drop cup...

If you do, ignore the pesin up there telling you used cars are always bought and sold "as is"... 2nd hand car salesmen are known to be quite shady worldwide....So it's no surprise one of them is trying to gaslight you into thinking you, and not his colleague is the problem...There is a thing called misrepresentation....Sometimes it can even be criminal.. Changing a vehicle's color will raise all sort of flags once it's VIN is researched, raising eyebrows where none should be raised, and substantially devalues a vehicle... On Autoreg, its previous registration shows a red Camry, while u are turning up before a road officer with a green Camry with same VIN.. U go explain taya in the unlikely but possible event agbada hook reach dat side...
