Group Calls For Prosecution Of Jim Obazee For Overstepping Investigative Mandate by Josepholome: 11:55am On Feb 23
The Southwest Professional Youths Network has expressed deep concern over recent reports of alleged misconduct by Jim Obazee, the former Special Investigator appointed by President Bola Tinubu.

Recall that an online medium had, on Thursday, published a report revealing that Obazee has carried on with his duties despite the expiration of his mandate in December 2023.

In a statement sent to journalists on Friday and signed by its convener, Comrade Seun Adeaanu, the youth group asked the president to prosecute Obazee for overstepping his mandate.

Part of the statement read:

”The accusations of intimidation, invasion of privacy, and overstepping his investigative mandate are troubling and raise significant questions about the conduct of the investigation.

”It is disheartening to hear about the continued harassment of CBN officials and other individuals even after Jim Obazee’s presidential mandate officially expired on December 1, 2023.

”Such actions are unacceptable and undermine the principles of transparency and the rule of law.

”The Southwest Professional Youths Network calls on President Bola Tinubu to investigate these allegations and take appropriate action.

”We urge President Tinubu to ensure that he faces legal consequences for his actions.

”In a democratic society, it is essential to uphold the highest standards of accountability and fairness. No individual, regardless of their position, should be allowed to abuse power or compromise the rights and privacy of citizens. The rule of law must prevail, and justice should be served.

”We trust that President Bola Tinubu will address these concerns promptly and take decisive action to restore confidence in the investigative process.

”The Southwest Professional Youths Network remains committed to advocating for good governance, accountability, and the protection of citizens’ rights.
