2 PCs of 430 watt at (150k) = 300k
2 batteries of 200ah at (360k) = 720k
35 meters wire of 4 mm at (3300) = 115,500
inverter = 125k
Transportation = 20k
Installment = 60k
Total = 1,340,500

This is the quote I was given, but I intend on removing one battery.

How did this go?

Cool. I will be glad if you can guide me do the same.
Abcruz:
August last year I bought a 180w solar panel, 65AH deep cycle battery, 500w solar inverter, 30A charge controller, and a 10m wire(red and black). I ordered the items online from Jumia, after reading the manual and watching YouTube solar installation videos, I did the connections and installations all by myself with no prior knowledge of electrical works. So far so good, no regrets as I now enjoy 24/7 uninterrupted power supply for my Laptop, phone and light.

Hello experts, I'm considering getting a solar power system for my business, a cold drink store cos of poor power supply. Im more concern with powering 2 freezers (top priority, say 15hrs daily), and maybe 1 fan and 2 bulbs. I'm considering getting sunking (runs on lithium batteries) but the price is kinda outrageous about 4.5m (payment spread over 80 weeks and 3 years warranty), a technician said I can get setup (tubular batteries) that'll power the freezers for 7hrs on sunny days for 1m max. I'm lock between going for cheaper alternative and expensive and maybe a more guaranteed option.

What about less sunny days, what now happens?

Go for something that will last and deliver whether rain or shine. You can save some costs if you're handy with tools, by going the DIY route. Tons of valuable information available on the solar Fta thread.

If you are in Lagos, I can guide you to get the items and come install for you at a fee. I can do all of the procurement and installation too, but it's going to be more expensive for you.

But if you the sun king will provide the 15h run time you need, then I'll advise you to with that over the 7h guy.

You can find 3Kw 12V on Jumia. They are very cheap. Not sure of durability.
I have used those 2000W transformerless inverter which is serving me well...but I dnt know of d 3kva,5kva... anybody with experience.

But the Mopower is also an Indian product, the CEO is my customer, considering getting their hybrid inverter or Yohaco
Felixv:
solar is the deal -but you need to be careful of the products out there -my dry cell agm battery died after 1 year of moderate usage so definitely avoid any indian made product.

am running on 4 solar panels, mopower inverter and 2 dry cell batteries.

carries only the simple devices -fridge,fans,tv and bulbs. This does not carry the AC so I converted to an air cooler instead.

my plan now is to increase the solar panel to 8,and by some tubular batteries -probably 4.

good luck

Yes you can with hybrid inverters. But you will only have light during the day/when there's sun.. Nowhere to store extra energy for use at night hence why you need inverters & BATTERIES

Hello.
Can one use solar without inverter?
Re: Guys Using Solar Energy Instead Of Nepa Or Gen. by deyem: 10:58pm On May 12
Lol! For sure na, the idea of solar is to harness the sun power, when it's raining there's hardly any sun na

Re: Guys Using Solar Energy Instead Of Nepa Or Gen. by deyem: 11:07pm On May 12
But Yohaco hybrid inverter usually has inbuilt charge controller na, why then did you need to buy charge controller
obitobe:
so guys my set up is as follows

-3.5kva 24 v yohako hybrid inverter
-4 (220AH) batteries
-12 (300W) solar panels
-60A felicity charge controller

I have been partially off-grid, i only get 24 hrs light from Nepa in a week and the rest has been on the solar grid. During the day with everything on, the inveter fridge, inverter deep freezer, the ceiling fans, the standing fans, the washing machine, TVs. With everything on during the day i draw 400w-700w but when the evening come, the max i draw is 200w and then at night time( bed time) i draw 90w-100w till the morning when the sun comes out.

i must say this journey has been a wonderful one for me. I hardly on generator only when they want to grind in the evenings and that will be for like 20mins.

What type of inverter carries your fridge,what capacity of d fridge?

Solar panel uses sun, so at night it won't give you power.
What can give you power at night is battery.

No, inverter is not the same thing as battery.

Battery produces Direct current. For you to power appliances in your home, you have to convert Direct current (DC) to Alternating current (AC). Inverter is what is used to do the conversion.
Re: Guys Using Solar Energy Instead Of Nepa Or Gen. by Love800(m): 11:46am On May 13
Okay.

I want to ask one final question. This is my last question. Does the energy dat enters the solar panel from the sun, stored in batteries dat will produce ligh/power later?

There's no sun at night, no matter the amount of panels you have, without batteries you can't have light at night... Except some new technology comes out

Okay.
So its the batteries that store the power from the sun(panels) and in return, provide light at night[. Ask the capacity of the inverter first I mean the kVa of the inverter and the system voltage because if the inverter is a 24v system you cannot remove one battery you must use at least two 12v batteries and for the price given I have little reservations on it.
